While tending to his bar one evening, David Wilkerson witnessed a food truck pull into his parking lot and dump a bag of trash on his property.
As they were pulling out, Wilkerson ran to the bag, picked it up, and heaved it back into the truck before it could drive away. He told KHOU, “When she got in the truck and went to put it in drive to pull off, that’s when I took off and said, ‘No, you can have that back.”
He posted the video online, and upon waking up the next morning learned it had gone absolutely viral, with many commenters suggesting that he should have just reported the incident to law enforcement.
Wilkerson, however, was satisfied with his reaction. “I made sure to return to sender,” he said.
Since the video’s spread online, Wilkerson says his business has received negative Google reviews, which he believes are tied to the incident. He said he is continuing to handle the situation himself.
