As delivery becomes a more viable option for customers to receive their purchases, more and more companies are experimenting with new technology to get products to consumers even faster. Some have tested out drone delivery, while others with driverless vehicles. Now, Walmart is ready to launch an electric delivery vehicle of their own, but first it will be tested throughout DFW.

Back in July, Walmart purchased 4,500 all-electric delivery vehicles from Canoo, a high-tech mobility company. Now, the company has announced plans to test these vehicles on the roads of North Texas, before a nationwide rollout in 2023. The rounded vans will be driven by Walmart employees to deliver online orders, groceries, and general merchandise, according to Dallas Culture Map.

“By continuing to expand our last mile delivery fleet in a sustainable way, we’re able to provide customers and Walmart+ members with even more access to same-day deliveries while keeping costs low," said Walmart senior VP David Guggina. Soon, these strange shaped vehicles will be on the roads in DFW, and hopefully successfully delivery Walmart products to customers.
