DFW dealt with some bad weather last week, as icy conditions kept many from completing their daily routines. However, while icy roads and cold weather were enough to ruin the weekend for many, none had it as bad as one woman on Lake Texoma. The woman spent two days floating the large reservoir on the border of Oklahoma and Texas on top of an air mattress before finally being saved.

Last week, as snow fell from the sky across the DFW metroplex, train conductor Cristhian Sosa spotted someone waving their arms asking for help while stuck on some rocks next to the water of Lake Texoma. Luckily for the stranded woman, who claimed to be floating on the lake for two days before being rescued, Sosa’s BNSF southbound train was headed to Irving from Oklahoma on a path that nears the lake. “She was wet, confused and had no recollection of time," said Sosa.

According to CNN, the woman was stranded on the air mattress after attempting to use it as a raft to get to a boat on the other side of the lake. Luckily, the woman was eventually taken to the hospital and is expected to survive. Hopefully she remains inside for the next winter storm.
