No one enjoys dealing with construction, especially when delays make it seem like there is no end in sight. For one woman, she decided to embrace the construction site in front of her home, throwing a party to celebrate the one year anniversary of the unfinished job. She recently went viral with photos of her party, custom cake and her "if you can't beat them, join them" mentality.
Natalie Harvey of New Orleans, Louisiana recently shared photos of a party she threw herself on the torn up street in front of her house. According to Harvey, the construction to fix the street started a year ago, and still has not been completed. "Happy first birthday to our street construction! It was one year ago this week when they first began to rip up our street. One year later, half the street is impassable — just last week, we had a massive, 6-foot-deep hole!" Harvey wrote in her now viral Facebook post.
According to Fox News, her post included photos of a custom cake she made complete with construction worker Legos, miniature Cat trucks, traffic safety equipment and a "road closed" sign. While her post was just for fun, Harvey hopes the construction is completed soon. If not, there may be another party next year.
