Celebrating her birth and “rebirth” after hitting the age of 51 on August 31, O.G. bubblegum-pop icon Debbie Gibson hit her Instagram page with a poolside photo from The Venetian in Las Vegas, sharing a glimpse of her still-amazing physique and reflective words as she begins another new journey around the sun.

Standing in an outdoor shower at the famed Vegas resort, Gibson began her caption saying, "On this, the night of my Birthday, and a life moment that is like a rebirth, this felt like the perfect expression of my journey to this magical moment."
Gibson, who just released her long-awaited album, The Body Remembers, in August -- her first in 20 years -- continued, "When I was at my lowest points in the last decade, literally laying face down on the cold bathroom floor in physical and emotional pain, inside I was still looking up and trusting that someway, somehow I was going to find myself as you see me in this picture… Looking up to the skies with stars showering down on me and bathed in a light that would help me project to all of you strength and joy and music and empowerment and the knowledge that the visions you hold for yourself and the voices in your own head are far more powerful than anything external threatening to take you down."
Eliciting themes from her summer disco single "One Step Closer," an ode, she says, to "pushing through the negatives in life," Gibson concluded her caption saying, "Once you announce to the universe that you are open to receive, it may take a moment, a year, or a decade, but you will eventually reclaim your freedom that’s there inside you… right inside you. So, put it out there. Start today. You are worthy of living your best life. Happy rebirth day … hands to the sky and let the stars shower their light upon you."
Upon the release of her new offering, The Body Remembers, Gibson thanked her "incredible team" of collaborators, "who I am lucky enough to call friends." Adding, "these songs reflect a lot of life lived over the past two decades and my intense energy that got me through the pandemic. I absolutely cannot wait for my die hard audience as well as new fans to hear this body of work that I’ve poured my heart into!"
