It's news that hits some ice cream lovers right in the jugular.
After nearly four decades, Klondike has discontinued its beloved Choco Taco.
A message on the Klondike website alerts Choco Taco lovers to the unfortunate news.
"Over the past 2 years, we have experienced an unprecedented spike in demand across our portfolio and have had to make very tough decisions to ensure availability of our full portfolio nationwide. A necessary but unfortunate part of this process is that we sometimes must discontinue products, even a beloved item like Choco Taco," the statement said.

Both the single serving and four pack boxes of the delicious treats -- which feature vanilla ice cream swirled with chocolate and stuffed into a taco-shaped sugar cone that's topped with chocolate and peanuts -- have been discontinued.
"We know this may be very disappointing," the company said.
Fans were not happy in the page's comment section.
"Something is wrong with your decision making," one person wrote.
"Please please please don't discontinue this spectacular product!!! My kids will be devastated! So delicious and yummy," wrote another.
"Can't believe these were discontinued!!! They were the best thing Klondike makes! Also no one else has anything like them," another person wrote.
The Choco Taco arguably revolutionized the ice cream cone industry by introducing a new mechanism for consumption: the taco-shaped shell! It was created in 1983 by Alan Drazen, who worked at the family-owned Philadelphia company Jack & Jill Ice Cream, Eater reported in an exposé on the Choco Taco in 2016.

Choco Tacos were sold only from ice cream trucks until 1989, when Good Humor and its parent company, Unilever, bought the license to manufacture and distribute the frozen treats under the Klondike brand, according to Eater. At one point, they were even sold at Taco Bell.
Although Klondike is no longer making them, there is still some hope for the Choco Taco. Jack & Jill still owns the patent, since Drazen developed the Choco Taco as its employee, Eater reported. So there's potential for a return to the ice cream aisle at some point in the future.
