Megan Fox claps back at 'archaic' mom-shamers: 'You don't expect a dad to be with the kids all the time'

Megan Fox is a little shocked.

The “Till Death” actress recently told InStyle that she can’t believe the sometimes “archaic” double standards sent her way since she became a mom.

As Yahoo Life reports, Fox has three kids she shares with her ex, Brian Austin Green. It seems though that when some boo-birds decry her nights out on the town or long days on the set, she has to remind them that the little ones have a dad too.

“You don't expect a dad to be with the kids all the time, but I'm supposed to not be seen and be at home with my kids,” Fox explained. “They have another parent. I have to leave and sometimes I don't want them photographed and they don't come with me. This whole year I've been very surprised by how archaic some of the mindsets still are in some people.”

And don’t get her started on what people have to say about the fact that her latest beau, Machine Gun Kelly, is a whopping four years younger than her.

"You want to talk about patriarchy? The fact that he's four years younger than me, and people want to act like I'm dating a younger man,” she shared. “He's 31, and I'm 35. Granted, he's lived like he's 19 his whole life, but he isn't 19. No one would blink twice if George Clooney was dating someone four years younger."

The “Transformers” star was a bit more effusive to the Washington Post earlier, when she exclaimed that having children allowed her to take a step back from the “horrendous, patriarchal, misogynistic hell that was Hollywood.”

Well, Fox is back dodging the devils again, as she and Kelly will co-star in the upcoming crime thriller, “Midnight in the Switchgrass.”
