Justin Newton wants to create a welcoming, neighborhood business akin to the television show Cheers.
You know, one where everybody knows your name.
Speaking of, his new spot in Lake Highlands Charlie’s Tavern & Kitchen is named after Charlie, his 11-year-old canary-winged conure bird.
Charlies in Dallas is now open for business, serving burgers, wings, and elevated pub fare. It’s Newton’s second location in North Texas, having previously opened near the University of Texas at Arlington in February.
Charlie’s features 20 beers on tap, and features live bands, karaoke, and a poker league.
It’s located at 10677 E. Northwest Hwy. #400 at the intersection of Plano Road, in the Northview Plaza shopping center.
