The loving and sometimes strange dynamics seen in all of our families can be appreciated with just one look at the iconic rock group Fleetwood Mac.

After numerous falling-outs, members rejoining, and additions to the roster over the years, drummer and founding member Mick Fleetwood still holds a candle for a proper reunion and hopes for "a classy way to say goodbye" to their fans.

In a new interview with the U.K.'s The Times, Fleetwood admits "strange things can happen. I look at Fleetwood Mac as a huge family. Everyone plays an important role in our history, even someone like guitarist Bob Welch, who was huge and sometimes gets forgotten." Mick also was sure to mention presently ousted member Lindsey Buckingham as well. "Lindsey’s position in Fleetwood Mac will, for obvious reasons, never been forgotten," he says, "as it should never be forgotten."

Fleetwood's respect for the legacy of the band, which certainly includes the group's current members, is all-encompassing. "I’d love to think that all of us could be healed," he says, "and also respect the people who are in the band, Neil Finn and Michael Campbell."

"We’ve all been shocked that life can change so very quickly," Fleetwood says about the state of the world amid the Coronavirus pandemic, "but you’re talking to the dude who never gives up. We are still a band. We have not broken up,” he says optimistically.

Mick's sights are now dead-set on getting the band out in front of their adoring fans for a proper send-off. "In the story of Fleetwood Mac, the last tour was not meant to be the last tour," he says. "I would hope to find a classy way to say goodbye. Because one thing we’ve all learned with Fleetwood Mac is that there are no absolutes at all."
