Carrie joined KCBS Radio as a Reporter/Anchor in June 2018.
She grew up in New Jersey in awe of the big voices she heard on the radio. At age 14, she decided she wanted to be one of those voices.
Carrie's start in radio came in 2011 when she interned for KYW Newsradio 1060 in Philadelphia, PA. She was promoted to a desk assistant after graduating from La Salle University in 2013.
A few years later, Carrie moved to Charleston, WV where she honed her reporting skills at West Virginia MetroNews, a statewide radio network. She also served as the fill-in anchor for the station's weekday morning news program.
Carrie received the 2018 Breaking News Award from the West Virginia Broadcasters Association for her live coverage of a deadly plane crash at Charleston's Yeager Airport. In addition, she and the MetroNews team received the 2017 National Edward R. Murrow Award for the station's coverage of the devastating West Virginia flood.
Carrie has covered elections, presidential visits, the massive West Virginia teacher strike, the region's opioid epidemic, the struggling coal industry and the homeless crisis. She especially liked the time she got to interview country music stars Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood before their concert in October 2016.
Carrie is excited to share her sound-rich pieces with Bay Area listeners. She interviewed a blind man once who recognized her voice from the radio. Instantly, she was reminded how powerful sound can be.
In her spare time, Carrie likes to travel and teach high school marching band.
