MORGANTOWN, Wv. (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Officials say a West Virginia nursing home with at least 20 coronavirus cases has become "ground zero" for that state's growing caseload.
Sundale Medical director Carl Shrader says the nursing home in Morgantown has 16 residents and four staffers who tested positive for COVID-19 Wednesday morning, with 76 other tests still pending.
State health officials say West Virginia's cases nearly doubled on Tuesday to at least 39, most of them in Monogalia County where the nursing home is located.
Governor Jim Justice says the state needs to look out for its seniors.
