Freeze Warning In Effect Overnight: Temperatures Will Reach Record Low

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) – Sometimes the snow comes down in… May.

That is the case for the Pittsburgh area, which saw snow fall during the late afternoon, and will be under a freeze warning beginning at 12:00 a.m. on Saturday until 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.

The freeze warning impacts the Pittsburgh area, including northwest, southwest, and western Pennsylvania, east central Ohio, western Maryland, and the northern panhandle of West Virgina.

Temperatures are expected to reach a record-breaking low of 26 degrees.

Please be advised that some plants may need to be covered overnight to protect from the frost. 

To prevent freezing or bursting pipes, wrap, drain, or allow them to drip slowly. In-ground sprinkler systems should be drain and cover them, as well as covering above-ground pipes.
