PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) – The Steel City has clinched the top spot for the second year in a row in the ranking by Smart Asset.
They looked at several metrics including weather, education, and crime.
The finance website says property costs are well below what they're worth, and come with educated neighbors.
“The average home in Pittsburgh is worth nearly $105 per square foot, but our model suggests that the city’s homes should be worth $263 per square foot based on livability, resulting in a surplus value of about $158. The Steel City has a high school graduation rate of 93%, a top-40 rate in the study overall.”
Pittsburgh scored well, but got dinged on walkability, coming up number 8 in the top ten pedestrian friendly cities.
