Shell Cracker Plant To Close For 3 Days Minimum

BEAVER, Pa (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - The Shell Cracker Plant construction site in Beaver County will shut down Thursday morning at 11:00 a.m. so that the entire site can be cleaned and sanitized.

There are about 7,000 construction workers, none at the site has tested positive for COVID-19 according to a spokesman for the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters.

The site will be closed for a minimum of three days.

Restroom facilities will be added.

More busses will be used to take workers to the site, whith bus capacity to be held at 5 percent.

An evaluation after sanitation will determine when the site will reopen.
