PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Two more flu deaths have been reported in Allegheny County, bringing this month's total to five.
Both were in their 30s with underlying medical conditions.
Cases are decreasing, but health officials still encourage vaccinations.
UPMC epidemiologist Graham Snyder told KDKA Radio's Marty Griffin the flu is an annual, and preventable, epidemic in the U.S.
Latest numbers from the state show 48,510 people have gotten the flu this season, with 7,226 of those in Allegheny County, by far the most in any county in the commonwealth.
