25-year-old DeAngelo Zieglar is facing a homicide charge in the death of 28-year-old Rachel Dowden.

Zieglar was arrested Thursday night after police found and interviewed a man he was seen with on surveillance video getting off a bus in Bellevue.

Police say that man saw Zieglar shoot 28-year-old Rachel Dowden three times at a bus stop. The unidentified witness says he asked Zieglar why he shot her, but he “just smiled and gave no explanation.”

According to police, the serial number on the gun used to kill her matches one Dowden bought to protect herself with, a weapon that went missing. Zieglar, who has a history of domestic violence, is facing criminal homicide, tampering with evidence and firearms charges.
