At least six families were impacted after scaffolding came crashing down on their homes.
Three telephone poles were snapped and the power went out across Bridge Street.
The building with the scaffolding is under construction and is part of the project on the 51st Bridge Street. It is supposed to be a “tech flex” space once it is completed.
Residents said they could hear the scaffolding cracking during the day as the wind was blowing. They were able to evacuate in time but had to leave everything behind.
No injuries were reported but more than a dozen of people were impacted from this.
The Red Cross will be helping those affected.
Duquesne Light said the power will likely remain out until Sunday.
