A vaccination is now available to everyone from 16 and older to help curb the spread of coronavirus, but daily numbers continue to rise concerning officials.
Could the latest numbers in Allegheny County and the region regarding COVID result in further restrictions? It's already happening in Europe.
On Friday, the County Health Department today is reporting nearly 600 new Coronavirus cases and nine additional deaths.
County Executive Rich Fitzgerald admitted to Marty Griffin on News Radio KDKA that these numbers are making him nervous.
"Very much so, yes these numbers are not looking good one of the things we feared was a third kind of spike or a third increase when people are lax and that's exactly what we're seeing right now," said Fitzgerald. "I don't know what's going to happen."
Fitzgerald says the good news is that up to 75% of the senior population in the county have been vaccinated with least at one shot.
