The frustration continues to mount at all levels for the CoronavirusCOVID-19 vaccination efforts.
As patients and citizens run into problems trying to access the vaccine, those responsible for delivering it are also seeing issues.
Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald tells KDKA Radio's Marty Griffin that the County is as prepared as it can be.
"We have people ready to put shots in arms," he said. "We've got doctors and nurses, retired doctors and nurses, doctors and nurses students, volunteers ready to go, but if you don't have the product to put into people's arms none of the rest of it matter."
While Pennsylvania has expanded eligible recipients for the vaccine, Allegheny County remains in the first phase of distribution due fluctuations in supplies from the federal government.
Fitzgerald says that communication continues to be an issue, and hopes that the new administration can bring a different approach to the delivery and administration of the COVID-19 vaccines.
