A young member of the Shaler Little Titans football team and Bauerstown baseball is going through some medical challenges, but he has the support of his community behind him.
A 5th grader named Max has been diagnosed with Meckel’s diverticulum which led to an emergency surgery that will be followed by another surgery this week.
Meckel’s Diverticulum is a rare congenital defect of the small intestine.
To help Maximus and his family, a fundraiser has been started.
“We ask our entire Little Titans community to please keep Maximus and his family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time,” the Shaler Area Little Titans Organization said on Facebook. “We’re sending him all of our strength and hoping for a smooth surgery and recovery.”
A card is also available this week at practice for anyone who would like to sign it.
All donations to the GoFundMe will help pay for Max’s recovery and make up for lost income while he family spends time with him in the hospital.
