A newborn baby Gorilla at the Pittsburgh Zoo needs a name.

The adorable female gorilla was born on Valentine’s Day this year and is currently under the care of her 32-year-old mother, Ibo.
The Zoo says she is being slowly introduced to guests to the Zoo and Alex Cauley with the Pittsburgh Zoo, tells KDKA Radio she was out with her mother Friday afternoon.
“Guests were able to get a glimpse of the two cuddled up napping,” said Cauley. “It was so sweet!”
The baby is a western lowland gorilla and is listed as “critically endangered” with the zoo adding their population is “rapidly decreasing.”
It’s Ibo’s second baby and the first in quite a long time, her first was born when she was eight.
Gorillas that live in a zoo can live into their 50s.
And you can name the baby gorilla. The Zoo is holding a naming contest and for a $5 donation you can put your name in. The top names will be selected by staff before a final round.
“With this new baby coming later in life, Ibo is a great mom,” says Karen Vacco, Assistant Curator of Mammals. “She is showing off the baby, cradling, and nursing. She naturally knows what to do and doesn’t need any intervention from staff. We are tracking their progress, and they’re both doing really well.”
