Record rains close many roads around the Pittsburgh area

PennDOT says it is closing the bathtub area of the Parkway East due to expected flooding.

The westbound lane of I-376 will close to traffic around 12 p.m. but may close earlier. Also the 10th Street Bypass is closed.

The Parking Authority has closed the Mon Wharf until further notice. A Flood Advisory for the Ohio River says it will rise above 18 feet late this afternoon.

Many other communities are dealing with flood waters as well.

Another half inch of rain is forecast Friday for the Pittsburgh area.
