Restaurant in northern Allegheny County under Consumer Alert

A restaurant in Allegheny County is under a Consumer Alert after an inspection found nearly 20 violations.

The Allegheny County Health Department says Scoreboard Lounge in Richland Township was hit with 18 violations including four considered “high-risk”.

Inspectors say the DEP issued a “do not consume” order for the water system on-site with the water coming from an “unapproved water source.”

Inspectors found a gnat infestation throughout the building including in the basement, kitchen and back storage room with “too many” flies to count in the kitchen.

Several items in a prep cooler were tempted between 45 to 52 degrees, slaw was temped at 43 degrees in an ice bath, something that “appeared to be soup” was between 45 and 72 degrees thawing on top of a toaster and an “improper ice bath” used to cold hold some food items.

Food debris was also found on a potato punch, debris on a deflector plate in the ice machine and the “can opener blade is excessively soiled.”

The inspector says a UV water treatment system was also turned off when the inspection started.

Leaking plumbing and improper storage and/or use of chemicals was also found.

The Alert was posted on October 6. Any updates to the alert can be found on the Health Department’s website.
