According to reports, the Steelers are adding former Pitt offensive coordinator and IUP OC Frank Cignetti Jr. to their coaching staff
The Post-Gazette’s Gerry Dulac reports the brother of national Champion coach, Indiana’s Curt Cignetti, will occupy a “new position” within the Steelers.
Cignetti was formerly an assistant with Steelers Head Coach Mike McCarthy’s staff in Green Bay. He was the quarterback coach in 2018.
Frank Cignetti was Pitt's offensive coordinator in 2022 and 2023. Last season, Cignetti was IUP's OC.
Cignetti is a graduate on Indiana Area High School and went to college at IUP.
The 60-year-old started his coaching career as a grad assistant with Pitt in 1989 and has also held various offensive coaching positions with the Kansas City Chiefs, New Orleans Saints, San Francisco 49ers, New York Giants, St. Louis Rams and several other college programs.
CBS Sports is also reportedly the Steelers are hiring former Packers strength and conditioning coordinator Mark Lovat and Titans assistant strength and conditioning coach Grant Thorne to their staff.
