2021 is set to be a life changing year for Blake Shelton.
Not only will the "Minimum Wage" singer be tying the knot to his fiancée, Gwen Stefani, but Shelton will also become a stepfather for the first time.
Stefani has three boys, Kingston (15), Zuma (13) and Apollo (7), from her previous marriage with Gavin Rossdale. The couple divorced back in 2015.
When Shelton was asked about becoming a stepfather on "The Ride with Kimo & Heather," he said that it's a job he takes wholeheartedly, but still remembers to have fun with it.
"I take it very serious, but I also have a blast with it," Shelton said. "I don't take it so serious that I'm not enjoying this time because I really am, especially now that we're five years into this thing. I can't imagine my life without these kids now."
The 44-year old, Oklahoma native isn't a stranger to the stepdad life. Shelton noted that he grew up with a stepfather of his own who he looks up to and would like to follow in his footsteps.
"I have a stepfather in my life who is one of my heroes," Shelton stated. "I love my stepfather and he's like a father to me, so I have a good inspiration in my life on how to do this and the kind of stepdad I want to be."
