A pedestrian who died after being hit by a vehicle on the Kansas Turnpike Friday night has been identified.
The accident was reported just after 8:10 p.m., south of Mulvane, in the northbound lanes of the roadway.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said a vehicle, driven by Shyann Clark, 18, of Atlanta, Kansas, had stalled on the inside shoulder against the barrier wall. As Clark ran across the roadway, a northbound vehicle struck her in the outside lane of travel. She died from her injuries. The driver of that vehicle remained at the scene and was cooperative with authorities.
Clark had recently started college. As of Sunday morning, a GoFundMe account has raised over $11,000.
