Newport Beach police are searching for the suspects in a violent robbery outside Fashion Island mall Monday night.
It happened at the parking lot around 11:30 p.m. A man was sitting in his Rolls Royce while another man was sitting in his Ferrari when three men in ski masks approached both cars and robbed them.
One man’s watch and wallet were stolen. The suspects also tried to carjack the driver of the Ferrari but he got away. One of the suspects who had a handgun shot at him, shattering one of the windows of the car and injuring the driver.
KNX News’ Jon Baird reported that the driver got to a gas station where he called the police.
The suspects then took off in a blue Kia Sedan.

This comes one month after three men robbed a couple from New Zealand outside the mall and then fatally ran over the wife, 68-year-old Patricia McKay, with a car. The three suspects were arrested and charged with murder.
