GRANBURY (1080 KRLD)- An 8-year-old girl was shot to death in Granbury and the sheriff's department says another child shot her.
The Hood County Sheriff's Department says it happened at a home on Monday afternoon.
When deputies got to the home, they had to load Nayeli Carranza Aguilar on an air ambulance to Cook Children's Hospital in Fort Worth but she didn't survive. They did find the gun in the house and said the family is cooperating.
They're working to figure out how the kids got a hold of the gun. Texas Rangers and the District Attorney's office are also investigating.
Nayeli was a student at Brawner Elementary School. The principal is sharing news about the tragedy on Facebook and says the district's crisis intervention team is at the school to help anyone who needs it.
Nayeli's family has opened a GoFundMe account to raise funds for her funeral arrangements. You can access the account HERE.
