An Afghanistan citizen living in Fort Worth who threatened to kill Americans in a video call has been federally charged.

30-year-old Mohammad Dawood Alokozay has been charged with transmitting a threatening communication in interstate commerce.

This was related to threats he made last week on a video call that was recorded and posted to social media.

"This Afghan national came into America during the Biden administration and as alleged, explicitly stated that he came here in order to kill American citizens," Attorney General Pam Bondi said.

U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas, Ryan Raybould, said we have zero tolerance for violence and threats of violence to kill American citizens.

"This arrest demonstrated that the FBI remains steadfast in our mission to defend the homeland and protect the American people," said FBI Dallas Special Agent in Charge Joseph Rothrock.

Alokozay threatened to conduct a suicide attack on the other participants of the video call as well as "infidels" and Americans.

He said he would build a bomb in his vehicle and that the Taliban were dear to him.

He faces five years in prison.
