(Dallas, TX) -- Ten weeks after a little Dallas boy was murdered in his own bed, the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosive is posting a reward in hopes of generating tips leading to the killer.
On the night of July 2, seven-year-old Kyrie Barnes was hit by a bullet that crashed into his bedroom at his family's apartment on Rothington Road in Buckner Terrace.
Four days later, the boy died from the injuries he sustained in the shooting.
A statement from ATF says, "law enforcement needs the public's help in identifying and locating the person(s) who is responsible for this horrendous crime."
The Bureau is announcing a reward of up to $15,000 for "information leading to the arrest and conviction" of those responsible for Kyrie's death.
