A Dallas County small business is singing the praises of a new countywide program aimed to help with the rising costs of childcare.

Dallas County launched the program this year.

They match every $1,500 that any business puts toward an employee's childcare.

Candice Johnson owns Candee Skin in DeSoto and has one employee who has been able to come back to work because of it. She says other employees are planning to take advantage as well.

"She went from working one day a week to now being able to work full-time because her child is in a proper care environment," Johnson said. "It's been great."

The county is still accepting applications because they have yet to reach the budget cap of $1-million.

Businesses are capped at $250-thousand.

"It was actually a really smooth and seamless process," Johnson said. "They explained everything. We do weekly training starting off and then go into monthly training after that."

Dallas County calls this a first for Texas.
