Fort Worth fire investigators are still looking for the cause of the fire that destroyed the building that housed the first Juneteenth Museum for nearly 20 years.
Wednesday's fire gutted the mostly wood building on the corner of Evans and Rosedale in east Fort Worth. The fire also spread to two adjacent buildings. One person was treated for smoke inhalation.
Fort Worth fire commanders say all of the artifacts that had been housed in the building had been removed in anticipation of the construction of the new Juneteenth Museum which is due to be completed in about two years.
Some of the 2020 film "Miss Juneteenth" was filmed at the original location.
