Hamilton pleads guilty to unlawful restraint

Hamilton will pay court costs and a $500 fine, attend anger control counseling and parenting classes, and do community service.

Former Texas Rangers star Josh Hamilton pleaded guilty Tuesday to unlawful restraint -- a Class A misdemeanor.

Hamilton had been indicted on a felony charge of injury to a child after his teenage daughter accused him of beating her in 2019.

The former MLB star's 14-year-old daughter told her mother, Hamilton’s ex-wife, that he struck her after he got mad.

Hamilton will pay court costs and a $500 fine, attend anger control counseling and parenting classes, and do community service.

Hamilton was part of the Rangers' only two World Series teams in 2010 and 2011 and was an All-Star five seasons in a row.
