As we deal with record setting cold and snow in Texas this week, we can't forget our friends in the LA area of California are still dealing with devastating fires.
As of Wednesday morning, The Palisades Fire, which has burned almost 24 thousand acres, is about 60% contained. Meanwhile, the Eaton Fire, which has consumed more than 14 thousand acres is almost fully contained. 28 people have died, over 300,000 people have been forced to evacuate.
As recovery continues, the Red Cross is on the front lines, bringing relief and hope to affected communities. Some of that support is coming straight from here in North Texas.
On Ask the Expert, the CEO of the American Red Cross North Texas Region, Linda Brady joined KRLD. She shares the powerful impact local volunteers are making in these recovery efforts and why their work is so critical.
