A former Keller middle school band director has now been charged with 17 counts in an ongoing sex crimes investigation.
The updated figure was announced at Tuesday's Keller City Council meeting where police detective Bethany Todd was recognized for her efforts in leading the investigation into allegations against Jedidiah Maus, who was arrested last year.
Maus is accused of exposing himself to middle school boys and in some cases, having sexual contact with them.
In a statement, Keller Police Chief Brad Fortune lauded Todd for spending "countless hours interviewing witnesses and victims, and corroborating evidence through video surveillance of KISD schools."
