DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - A man is in custody after Grand Prairie police say he led them on a brief car chase, then stopped in the middle of the interstate.
It happened around 9 a.m. Officers originally tried to pull Christopher De La Rosa over for driving with a blown-out tire, police say, but he sped off towards Dallas. When he finally came to a stop, police say he refused to surrender. Officers were forced to shut down I-20 near I-35E because De La Rosa wouldn't get out of his car.
"Armored vehicles pinned him in," said Mark Beseda with Grand Prairie Police. "They continued their negotiations and eventually he surrendered without incident."
De La Rosa was arrested on charges of evading arrest and driving while intoxicated.
