DALLAS (NewsRadio 1080 KRLD) -- Two Dallas paramedics had their credentials temporarily suspended about three weeks after a woman lost consciousness and later died in their ambulance, officials say.

Dee Dee Hall's family says the paramedics' treatment of her was inhumane. She was handcuffed and made to wear a spit hood because she resisted efforts to restrain her as she was being taken in for a mental health check.

Hall, 47, was picked up in East Dallas on May 26 after police got a call about a disturbance. When officers arrived they found Hall upset and yelling, police said. They asked if she needed an ambulance and she indicated she did, but when police tried to help a struggle broke out and Hall was restrained.

Once in the ambulance, police said she continued to struggle and died while on the way to the hospital.

Family attorney Justin Moore told NBC 5 even if proper procedures were followed, Hall should have been treated better and they are demanding a full investigation.
