Known sexual assault cases are up in Dallas, but police say that's a step in the right direction.
Major Paul Junger with Dallas Police says a campaign by the department and the council has been encouraging victims to speak out.
He says most of the victims are children and they know their offender and often live with them. Because of the trust the police are building with the community, a lot more of these offenses are being reported.
