Homeowners in Tarrant County are being given a little more time to protest their property appraisals.
The Tarrant Appraisal District has posted on its website that the deadline for homeowners to protest their property appraisals has been extended from May 15th to May 30th.
This change comes as the appraisal district's website has been experiencing technical difficulties, causing the site to run slowly or not run at all. The district says it's working to address the issue and is adding new services.
The property value is just one of two components that determine your property tax bill. The other, the tax rate of each taxing entity, will be established this fall.
