
While inflation may be driving the cost of living up, Texas still has four of the top 10 cheapest commutes in the country.
Auto Insurance.org looked at information from the Census Bureau statistics.
Lubbock is by far, the cheapest city to commute to and from work at under $2,900 a year. The average commute there takes 16 minutes. That's just about the shortest on the list.
Laredo finished second at $3,200. Corpus Christi finished in fifth place at $3,400 a year. Then, El Paso is in 7th place at $3,600. The most expensive commute is Fremont, California at more than $15,000 a year.
