The Padres and Pirates had a good old fashioned pitcher's duel on Tuesday evening, with Michael King and Paul Skenes combining for 13 shutout innings. With the game tied 0-0 in the top of the 9th inning, Craig Stammen brought in Mason Miller in an attempt to put the Padres in a position to walk it off in the bottom of the 9th. But Oneil Cruz took Miller deep for the game's first and only run, as Mason Montgomery struck out two batters en route to his 6th save of the season. The Padres will have their backs against the wall in Wednesday's series finale trying to avoid being swept with Adrian Morejon and Mason Miller almost definitely unavailable.
