One COVID shortage that didn't get a lot of coverage was the one where Grape-Nuts virtually disappeared from store shelves in late 2020 into 2021. The Grape-Nuts faithful went searching from store to store to find boxes of the more than 120-year-old cereal brand to only find all to familiar "out of stock" notices. Some fans turned to social media to hunt down their favorite cereal and happily paid upwards of a $100 per box. The good news is that Post Consumer Brands announced that the pandemic-induced Grape-Nuts drought is over, as supplies return to pre-pandemic levels as production is back at full capacity. Post also said it is willing to reimburse desperate fans who turned to the secondary market and paid "extreme prices" to get their fix. If you forked over $10 or more for a box of Grape-Nuts Original cereal between November 1, 2020 and March 15, 2021 and happen to still have a valid retailer or e-retailer receipt, you can receive a partial refund of up to $115 to help cover the difference between the amount paid and the suggested retail price of the Grape-Nuts Original cereal box purchased. In a statement released about the reimbursement program, Post said this was "a way to show our appreciation and thank these fans for their dedication." You can submit your receipt online through April 15th here.
