PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — The presence of COVID-19 can make it very difficult for loved ones of those with Alzheimer's disease.

For those being cared for in skilled nursing facilities, it is very tough on loved ones who have not been able to make the visits due to restrictions.

And for those caring for a loved one with dementia at home, the 24/7 demands can be intensified.

Even in the best of times, caring for a loved one with dementia can make the day seem unending.

If you are a caregiver, try to find time for breaks and look for support when possible. This is also a time where a telehealth visit can be very helpful as it's safer for your loved one and may give you an opportunity to talk with your doctor for suggestions.
