He said he saw visitors and residents wearing masks and social distancing on the beaches and boardwalk.
“We lifted restrictions leading into this holiday weekend with some reservations about how folks were gonna behave and I just can’t be more complimentary,” he said.
Phase one of Delaware’s economic reopening plan will begin on June 1. Restaurants and bars will be able to open at 30% capacity.

The state's Office of Alcohol Beverage Control is now reviewing outdoor seating plans for places with liquor licenses.
"And so today, I'm really happy to report we will continue to roll forward and protect the health of Delawareans. We will continue to reopen different sectors of our business community. We will do it in a way that's safe,” Carney said.
The state has close to 9,000 positive cases and over 300 deaths.
