Officials say 33-year-old Josue Quino, fueled with alcohol, got into an argument and started fighting with guests at a house party on Mascher Street near Olney Avenue.
"There is also broken glass," said Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small. "There is also overturned and broken furniture, so there was clearly a violent struggle inside."
Small says police were called to the home shortly after 3 a.m.
"When police arrived on location, they found a 35-year-old female laying on the highway. She was stabbed mutiple times in her abdomen. There was a 33-year-old man standing over her."
Officials say that woman, Juana Us-Perez, was also stabbed in the chest. She was pronounced dead at the hospital a short time later.
Small says there were 6 boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 16 in the house who witnessed the argument and attack.
The woman's 14-year-old son, who tried to intervene inside the home, was stabbed in the thigh and taken to the hospital. He is listed in stable condition.
Quino was charged with a list of offenses, including murder, attempt to commit murder, terroristic threats, aggravated assault and corruption of minors.
