David Asch

David is an editor and morning drive writer for KYW Newsradio and takes pride in providing listeners with news coverage from the best station in Philadelphia.

He started at KYW back in 2021 as a news production assistant and then became a jack of many trades, including some work as a reporter and digital editor.

David is a proud 2020 graduate of Temple University’s Klein College of Media and Communication. He majored in journalism and was part of the WHIP student-run radio station, where he hosted/produced sports talk shows, broadcasted Temple football and basketball games and wrote for the station’s website. His proudest moment at Temple was when he and his broadcast team were named finalists for the 2020 Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS) award for best football broadcast in the country.

David’s also called high school sports in Bucks, Burlington and Mercer counties for WBCB 1490AM radio. The sports bug hasn’t left him…he stays in business by occasionally filling in to call Jefferson University basketball games and is part of the Philadelphia Eagles stat crew during home games.

In his free time, David likes to run, travel, try new restaurants, spend time with friends and family, and — of course — experience the highs and lows of being a die-hard Philadelphia sports fan.
