PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Doylestown Health has opened a new outpatient rehabilitation center to handle a growing need.
The three-story center adds more than 60,000 square feet of clinical space at the hospital in Doylestown, and Jim Brexler, president and CEO of Doylestown Health, said it gives the system more room for physical, occupational, speech and hand therapy services.
"They were not spread out. They were cramped in, is probably the best way to put it. We've been growing the volume in rehabilitation over the last several years and they were located on the first floor of the hospital and over the years have just outgrown the space," Brexler explained.
There is also space for an outpatient surgical center and recovery suites and orthopedic offices.
He hopes to now have room to expand services for patients with stroke, brain injuries and other issues.
