PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A Philadelphia man was sentenced on Tuesday to life in federal prison for his role in the murder of a gas station attendant.
A jury convicted Chihean Jones in November of murder in the course of using and carrying a firearm, as well as an additional gun offense and two robbery offenses, for the shooting death of 66-year-old Siboram Patro, a Tacony gas station employee.
The killing happened on Jan. 17, 2023 during a robbery with two others, Keyon Vincent and Robert Miller-Crafter.
Federal authorities said Jones “pushed” his gun under the protective glass, shot Patro — who was trying to run — and then stole his wallet as he laid dying on the floor of the Exxon station along Torresdale Avenue.
Weeks later, the trio was arrested. Nearly a year later, they were indicted by the feds for several cell phone store robberies.
Vincent and Miller-Crafter both pleaded guilty and will be sentenced later this spring. Jones faces an additional 40 years behind bars for two additional robbery convictions.
