PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — A man is dead and a woman is injured after they were struck by a SEPTA bus Friday in Queen Village.

Officials say a Route 64 bus hit 35-year-old Michael Spooner and a 29-year-old woman as they were walking northbound on Washington Avenue around 7 p.m.

Spooner died at the scene. The woman was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, where she is listed in stable condition.

Police say the SEPTA driver remained at the scene after the incident.

This is the second transit-related incident this week. On Monday, a child was struck by a NJ Transit bus on Sixth and Market streets in Old City.
