PHILADELPHIA (KYW Newsradio) — Investigators have found the car they believe was involved in a shooting in North Philadelphia that injured seven people, one critically — and they've taken someone into custody.
Authorities were looking for a charcoal gray Acura TSX, with unique features including a missing front grill and damaged trunk. They say they found it on Thursday at Morton and Duval streets, near Mallery Playground in the East Germantown neighborhood.
According to investigators, the car is connected to the shooting at Bambrey Street and Somerset Street. One person has been taken into custody, but police don't know yet if that person is connected to the shooting.
Detectives say the trio of suspects are two men wearing all black and one wearing all white. Shell casings from at least two guns were found, and police say they are examining those ballistics.
In total, about a dozen or so shots were fired just before 6:30 p.m. into the bodies of two men and five women, ranging from ages 16 to 46 years old.
A 19-year-old was shot in the back and critically wounded, while the other six victims suffered injuries to the legs, rear end and hand, as well as graze wounds to the stomach. All six are expected to recover.
